I don’t know what Art is, but I know what is not
At little while ago illustrator Tom Bagshaw sent me an email to sign a petition.
Artist, if you can call him that, Habakkuk Guillermo Vargas tied a dog (puppy) up in a gallery space on view to the public and allowed the dog to die by starving it to death. I don’t really care what message Mr Vargas was trying to send or point he was trying to make. This is animal abuse and he should be castrated for it. I don’t think I need to post the photos of the humiliated dog, so I will not be doing so.
Now what is the petition for if this has already happened? Well, the Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American have deemed this monstrosity to be ‘Art’ and have invited Habakkuk Guillermo Vargas to do a repeat performance for the prestigious Biennial of 2008. This must not be allowed to happen regardless of where the law stands. Please boycott the event and sign the petition.

The dog was tied up for a few hours, before which it had been fed and watered, and then it escaped the next day. Do five minutes of research and you will see that everything you’ve been told is a lie.
When checking out this story I researched a number of different sites, including Sky news and they all had the same story. I would love to know what is really going on. Do the Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American intend to let Habakkuk Guillermo Vargas feed and water the dog, then tie it up to be on display and then allow it to escape and die? Where did you find the truth?

Snopes has it listed as undetermined but by just reading the entry it seemed suspiciously like other urban legends I’ve read. It’s been a story floating around since just last year.
are you people kidding me? you actually think this is a joke, and you’re sticking up for this? its no legend, it was on the #@!!#? news for christ sakes. you make me sick.
